Student Experience
MS in Health Technology Support
MS-HT students receive support and mentorship from a multi-faceted student advising system.
- Academic advising: Students meet with the Assistant Director at least once per semester (and as often as desired) for assistance with course registration, Capstone Project progress check-ins, and general assistance with the program and student life at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
- Faculty mentors: Students are encouraged to meet with our faculty members and build 1:1 connections and mentorship, particularly during the Capstone Project.
- Career advising: Students receive career-related support and professional development in their Capstone Courses and 1:1. This includes assistance with developing resumes and cover letters, looking for jobs, practicing for interviews, and negotiating job offers. Students also have access to the University-wide career support services from The Career Center.
- Professional mentorship: During the Capstone Project, each student will work in a community organization, industry, government, or academic setting gaining hands-on health technology experience. Each student will have a site supervisor/mentor, a faculty mentor, and the Capstone course instructor that helps the student develop as a professional as well as hone their applied health technology skills.
